NEP interventions
National Employment (NEP) of the Government of Rwanda (GoR) is designed to serve the following objectives (1) foster creation of sufficient jobs that are adequately remunerative and sustainable across the economy,(2) equipping the workforce with vital skills and attitude for increased productivity that are needed for the private sector growth, and (3) provide a national framework for coordinating all employment and related initiatives and activities in the public, private sector and civil society. The principles and aim of the NEP were derived from the thematic orientation, objectives and strategy of the Second Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS 2) and National Strategy for Transformation (NST1). The challenge of employment promotion which is being addressed by the NEP is grounded in the overall national development process and the structural transformation of the economy over the next seven years.
