Are you a TVET graduate, you want to start a business and you don't know how to access equipment?
The facility is designed for TVET graduates who have acquired hands-on skills and are in need of equipment to apply the acquired skills into business. The National Employment Program provides a package to both individual and cooperative beneficiaries. An individual in need of equipment is entitled to a maximum subsidized toolkit loan of 500,000RWF whereas a cooperative is entitled to 5,000,000RWF. The package has a 50% loan part and 50% grant part which is benefited only if the beneficiary is paying back well the loan part as agreed by the SACCO. The service is delivered by SACCOs and for a TVET graduates to access it has to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Are you a cooperative operating in an ICPC and you don't have enough money to buy modern equipment?
The scheme was put in place to address the challenges of ICPCs/Agakiriro operators who are in need of modern equipment. The scheme provides a maximum loan amount of 100,000,000RWF which is given at an interest of 11%, and is paid back in 10 years based on the life span of the machine. For cooperatives to benefit from the scheme, they must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Is your business project lacking sufficient collateral security in order to secure a loan?
Business Development Fund provides a guarantee to viable and bankable projects with insufficient collateral security to enable them access finance from banks, the scheme can cover/guarantee your business project up to a maximum of 75%. Youth and women with good business projects are encouraged to benefit from the scheme. For you to benefit from the scheme, you should fulfil the following:

University graduates have been provided with an opportunity of securing a subsidized loan to invest in agro-based businesses. The National Employment Program through BDF implements the agribusiness investment facility targeting University graduates
The scheme supports University graduates with new start-up projects and existing ones with less than three years in operations
The package provided to viable agribusiness projects is made up of the contribution of 10% of the amount requested from BDF, a grant of 30% and BDF convertible shares of 60%. The ceiling of the loan amount under this scheme is 10,000,000RWF given at an interest of 12%.

The National Employment Program provides an opportunity for young people in need to acquire vocational skills in a short period of time (3-6 months based on the nature of the trade). The hands-on trainings are free of charge and are conducted in different trades including: Carpentry, welding, tailoring, plumbing, electricity etc. For you to access the training, you apply at a TVET school once the call for application is published.
